Mijn piano is een spiegel, my piano is a mirror
When I was granted with the VPRO Boy Edgar award in 2007 I decided to create a documentary about my musical life. With the fantastic support, patience and devotion of Annelotte Verhaagen, the producer of all of this we could release this film at the Dutch film festival in 2009. Challenge Records presented it together with a live cd "Reflections" in one nice album. Since the cd is on spotify the documentary has to be available on youtube. I am proud to present it right now (20240 on this platform. It still reflects a lot of what I did and what I am still doing and realizing. Thanks to Annelotte Verhaagen and Wim Timmermans
We'll meet again performed on a Hammond Novachord built in 1939
Bert van den Brink performs on this unique instrument from 1939 revised by Sjaak van Oosterhout. This instrument can be considered the ancester of the modern synthesizer. This instrument once more proves the genious of Laurence Hammond. When Vera Lynn recorded we'll meet again in 1939 accompanied on the Novachord it must have felt like science fiction.Hammond Novachord

Tribute to Cor Steyn and Tom Manders
The recording is made friday the 14th. of november 2014 when the Hammond C3 and the Leslie 122 from 1958 were delivered at my place. We all were trying to perform the legendary song "twee motten" recorded in 1957 by Tom Manders and Cor Steyn
Philicorda from 1969 played by Bert van den Brink
This vintage portable electronic organ has always belonged to me and my father who worked for Philips added the pedals to it so that this beautiful organ really became a serious instrument! After so many years it has been revised by engineer Pieter de Jong who added the beautiful Leslie cabinet to it. It is set up now in our brandnew piano workshop.
You hear my composition "multiple voice" in which I try to demonstrate the instrument with its beautiful sound and rich possibilities.
Saint James Infirmary with Eric Vloeimans, trumpet
Eric Vloeimans and Bert van den Brink performing on the Amersfoort Jazz Festival in the Joris Church showing their unique musical talents of adapting to the incredible sound of church and organ as if their music is made to be performed in churches and cathedrals. Thank you Marijke Badings for recording.

Viva Philicorda

Richard Bona rehearsing with Bert van den Brink
Richard Bona visited the Netherlands in june 2015 for one concert in The Hague with the "residentie-orchestra". I was invited together with drummer Arie den Boer to be the rhythm section for this occasion. After the official rehearsing time Richard still wanted to play something that you can watch here.
